Lord Narasimha - Imagine the power you hold within you

This painting helps me realise the power one has within. Do not be fooled by the gentle demeanour. Inner power can manifest in various forms, even the ferocious Narasimha form of Vishnu.

Lord Narasimha is the ferocious avatar of Vishnu. The story focuses on Prahlad, the son of the asura king Hiranyakashyapu. 

Hiranyakashyapu hated the name "Vishnu", but his son was devoted to Lord Vishnu. Hiranyakashyapu kept testing Prahlad's devotion of Vishnu, with having him dropped  off a mountain, having him seated in fire etc, and Prahlad kept surviving every test.  At last, Hiranyakashyapu pointed at a pillar and asked Prahlad if Vishnu was present in the pillar. When Prahlad said yes, his father broke the pillar in a rage. From inside the pillar emerged Narasimha. Narasimha had the ferocity of the lion, and looked like a mix of animal and human.

Narasimha killed Hiranyakashyapu as prophesied.
